The World Environment Day was jointly celebrated by Environmental Club, Bhoomithrasena Club, Forestry Club and NSS. The observation of the day was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. U. Nazarudeen followed by distribution of saplings to students. Saplings were implanted by the students as well as the principal and teachers in the campus. The most noteworthy programme in connection with the celebration was the inauguration of a 'Butterfly Park' initiated by the NSS unit. The day also marked the launching of a new and innovative organisation named 'Iqbal Green Earth Organisation'. In connection with the celebrations an essay competition on the subject 'Connecting People to Nature' was also conducted. The PG students of Botany Department celebrate the day at JNTBGRI Palode. Miss. Smitha S and Jithuraj won third prize in quiz competition conducted by TBGRI in connection with World Environment Day 2017.
